Lane Smith, DVM
Veterinarian

Dr. Smith, the younger brother of Dr. Shedd Garza, earned a B.S. in Biology and a B.S. in Animal Science from Tarleton State University. He earned his DVM at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. His passion is to keep your pet healthy and happy. His favorite saying is, “they don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care,” which he strives to demonstrate in every client interaction. He spends leisure time with his wife Jennifer, his daughter McKenna and son Braden, and they share their home with a Golden Retriever, Annabelle, and two guinea pigs, Lizzie and Cleo.

Linda Garza (Shedd), DVM
Veterinarian

The sister in our brother-sister team of veterinarians, Dr. Shedd Garza obtained her B.S. at the University of Texas at San Antonio and earned her DVM from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Her favorite part of working here is the family-oriented environment. Dr. Shedd Garza is the mother of triplets-Davis, Ethan, and Ella-and their younger brother Daniel, and is married to Michael Garza, whom she met through one of our beloved clients. Dr. Shedd Garza and family live in a menagerie: French bulldogs Frenchy and Cousteau; adopted mixed breeds Hannah and Brindle; African Grey parrot Louis; and an ever-changing habitat for anything from turtles to hermit crabs.

Robin Neill
Practice Manager

Robin has been a member of our Smith & Shedd Family since we opened in 2006. She recently returned to our clinic as our Office Manager in 2015. Robin has been in the veterinary field for over 13 years. She is extremely knowledgeable of how a veterinary clinic operates as a whole from her experience working in all departments of the veterinary field. If you have any suggestions or concerns she welcomes input and is available by clinic phone Monday through Friday.

Tara Lynn
Operations Manager

Tara has worked in the veterinary industry for over 7 years. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M San Antonio with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Her experience and training in all departments makes her very knowledgeable on the day to day operations of our facility. She loves interacting with all of the pets and clients that enter our facility and has a special interest in customer services. She says that her favorite part about working for Smith and Shedd are the people she works with and bonds she makes with our clients and patients. She shares her home with her husband, James, her 4 dogs, Maximus, Roberta, Baroness “Von” Underbite, and Penny, and their cat Abraham Lincoln.

Jesus Coronel
Technical Manager

Jesus graduated from ITT Tech in March 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Information Security Systems and an Associates in Electronics. You can often find the proud father spending time with his two daughters Genazai and Lala when he is not at work. Both his girls love the San Antonio Zoo. They must get their love of animals from their dad. Jesus has worked here since 2007. He chooses to work with us because, as he says, “I love and care for every pet that sets a paw in our clinic”. Although he doesn’t have any pets of his own, he makes sure every pet here is treated like his own. A fun fact about Jesus is that he likes to work on his ’77 Red Firebird that is actually Lala’s car.

James Crutchfield
Technical Manager

James has been a long-standing employee here at Smith and Shedd, having worked for the family practice for over 8 years. He is a certified EMT and is currently going to Paramedic School and hopes to one day become a Physician’s Assistant. Also married to our receptionist Kenzie Crutchfield. He is a proud father of their two children Julian and Lorelei. James has always had a soft spot for animals and their unconditional love. His passion for what he does in conjunction with his education has allowed him to become a successful and highly knowledgeable technician. He is an avid outdoors man and is often found spending his free time fishing, hunting, or doing anything outdoors with his Shiba Inu, Kage and his Pitbull/Mastiff, Quannah.

Victoria C.
Licensed Veterinary Technician

Victoria is our LVT (Licensed Veterinary Technician). She graduated from Palo Alto Veterinary Program in 2012 and in the last 3 years here at Smith & Shedd has become an essential member of our team. She has over 5 years of experience in the veterinary field and plans to make LVT a lifelong career. When Victoria is not working at Smith & Shedd you can find her continuing her education at conferences and symposiums. Victoria also enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Jennifer A.
Veterinary Technician

Jennifer is what we call a true animal lover and is a fan of all things in nature. She was born and raised in Connecticut but is quickly learning that Texas has become her new home. This is her first job in the veterinary field, but she has already made great strides in her skills and knowledge due to her diligent work habits and compulsion to always learning new things and taking in pride in her work. She has 2 dogs, 2 geckos, 4 finches, and an iguana. With her contagious smile and perky personality, she enjoys spending time with each pet that she cares for and will ensure that your pet leaves our facility with a happy heart. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to good music hanging out at home with her family and pets.

Brianna M.
Veterinary Technician

Brianna was born and raised right here in San Antonio. She has a true desire for caring for animals which makes her an amazing technician. We can often find her giving lots of love and TLC to our critical and sick patients which is a critical role and standard in our patient care. She has been working in the Veterinary field since 2012. She came to Smith and Shedd with a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries from Texas A&M in 2014. One day she wants to pursue a career in animal health and conservation. She enjoys spending time ourdoors with her Rottweiler, Bruno, and cuddling with her cat, Luna Lovegood.

Annabelle W.
Technician Assistant

Annabelle joined the S&S team back in 2019 and brings with her over 4 years of animal care experience. You can most likely find her in the back assisting with all the Australian Shepherd appointments. A true animal lover at heart, Annabelle and her husband share their home with their two dogs: Parker (Pointer/Lab Mix), Emmett (Mini Aussie), and their four cats: Gandalf, Luna, Artemis, and Binx. In her free time, you can find Annabelle reading or taking adventurous hikes with her dogs.

Cyiera C.
Technician Assistant

Cyiera is our resident cat whisperer and we certainly feel lucky to have her and feline handling skills on board. She started with S&S in February of 2020 bringing over 4 years of animal handling experience to the team. If you are bringing in your cat for an appointment, chances are highly likely that Cyiera will be happily assisting you and your pet. When not working, you can find Cyiera roller skating, painting, or spending time with her own 4 cats Wallace, Uffie, Nomi, and Indiana.

Bianca C.
Receptionist

Bianca started with our practice in 2016. She came to us with 6 years’ experience working in the animal field. She has always had a passion for animals ever since she was a little girl. Her family always had pets and growing up she says couldn’t imagine life without them. Her personality shines as a receptionist and she is a very valued part of our team due to her great work ethic and positive attitude. She says she enjoys working at Smith and Shedd Family Pet Hospital because it is a family owned practice and she enjoys the close-knit working environment and the bonds she has made with her co-workers. She spends her free time cuddling with her Dachshund, Bonnie, spending time with family and friends, and traveling.
